How many images are photographed at a wedding?
As many as possible! Since I use a blend of both digital and film, I would estimate I usually photograph 400 images in about 5 hours. I think it is very important to have a large inventory of images since we cannot go back the following week and get more!
What types of albums do you offer?
The studio primarily uses two manufacturers for album production. General Products offers a standard leather album. We also highly recommend using the top of the line Leather Craftsman which produces superior albums. Using old world craftsmanship this company binds your album by hand using fine leathers and materials. The studio is also open to using an album company of your choice as well. Please let us know if you would like a quote based on a particular album manufacturer.
How far in advance are you booked?
Certain times of the year book out a year in advance. Also, particular dates are more popular than others. I photograph a select number of weddings a year in order to maintain a high level of service and deliver outstanding images.
What is Wedding Photojournalism?
Wedding Photojournalism is a style that roughly consists of about 80 percent candid, or photo-journalistic, photos and 20 percent of the traditionally posed shots. The photographer's job is to document the wedding day as it unfolds, unposed. The goal is to become an invisible photographer, so your subjects are totally unaware of the camera's presence. Being a discreet photographer, I can capture the real heartfelt moments that reflect the essence and individuality of your wedding day.
Do you use film or digital?
I love both film and digital photography and by using a blend I find the perfect balance. The fact that many other photographers use only digital makes using film a unique choice. All of my film is scanned and saved to disk. It's the best of both worlds.
Do you work with an assistant?
I enjoy working with an assistant. Although my assistant does not take photographs, I feel having someone there to aid with light readings, adjust clothing (if needed) and numerous other tasks is very valuable. A second pair of eyes and hands is so helpful on such an important day.
Where are you located?
We are located in Santa Cruz near the ocean. This is a central location for us in between San Francisco and Carmel/Monterey. Most of our work is in Santa Cruz and Carmel but also ranges through the Bay Area and has taken us to many parts of the United States.

Do you offer packages?
We offer collections ranging from three to nine hours. I offer special proposals for clients that have a particular budget in mind and will work with you to ensure you get the photographic coverage you desire at a rate that you can afford.
